Retirement villages in the Mid North is a region to enjoy rolling hills, stunning wine regions and excellent local cuisine.
The major town in the region is Clare which has a population of over 5,000. It is situated 136km north of Adelaide and enjoys a Mediterranean climate.
Most of the rainfall occurs during winter and spring, however summer’s are often dry creating a desirable climate for winegrowing.
Farming has been a large contributor to the region’s economy since the early settler period, and is still significant particularly for wheat, sheep and grapevines. The area stretches over the Flinders Ranges, the Mount Lofty Ranges and the Clare Valley.
The Mid North is north of the Adelaide Plains and is home to the Clare Valley, one of Australia’s oldest wine regions.
