Retirement villages in north west Queensland is ultimate country living in a tropical climate.

The main towns in the North West are Mount Isa which is considered to be a city, plus smaller towns such as Doomadgee, Cloncurry, Camooweal, Kowanyama and many more.

The region’s climate is divided into a dry season and a wet season. The wet season begins in December and lasts until April, the climate is very humid at this time of year and the area can be prone to flooding during a strong wet season. Although generally rainfall is very low.

The region is a dry savannah situated between the wetter areas of the Northern Territory and Far North Queensland.

The North West region in Queensland (also referred to as the Gulf Country and Gulf Savannah) is a remote region stretching over 186,000 square kilometres.

The dry season begins in April and lasts until November.
