An independent living unit or villa is a type of accommodation in a retirement village that allows seniors to live independently in a private residence while still having access to communal facilities and services.

These units are typically self-contained, featuring a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and living area. They may also include a courtyard, balcony, or garden space. The units can vary in size and design, from small one-bedroom units to larger villas with multiple bedrooms.

Residents of independent living units/villas have the freedom to manage their own daily routine and can choose to participate in the village community as much or as little as they like. They may also have access to a range of communal facilities and services, such as community centers, swimming pools, gyms, and transport services.

Independent living units/villas offer a range of benefits for seniors looking to downsize and simplify their lifestyle. These benefits include:

  • Freedom and independence: Residents can maintain their independence and autonomy while enjoying the peace of mind that comes with living in a secure community.
  • Low maintenance: Independent living units/villas require minimal maintenance, allowing residents to focus on enjoying their retirement.
  • Access to services: Residents have access to a range of services and facilities, such as healthcare, transportation, and social activities, that are designed to support their wellbeing and quality of life.
