Novacare's Craft Room Showcases Work of Talented Residents

on the Thursday, April 6, 2017

The Craft Room at Novacare Village is one of the most utilised facilities on the site. There are sewing machines, art equipment, facilities for mosaics, Nuno felting and card marking - there's even a store room of fabric supplies for quilting/patchwork and much more.

The walls of the Craft Room are adorned with the beautiful work that many talented residents have created, including paintings and patchwork/quilting.

Almost every day residents of Novacare Village come together to share their craft, their ideas and their ideals. It's a room that offers a kindly ear to those less fortunate to come along for a chat and to share a cuppa at afternoon tea.

Over the years, the Craft Room and many creative residents have offered kindness and outreach to many deserving charities including:

  • Knee Rugs For The Wheelchair Kids
  • Trauma Bears For The Ambulance And Police
  • Varieties Of Items For The Joseph Coat Box
  • Baby Bonnets For The Premature Babies At King Edward Hospital
  • Patwork Rugs For Foster Children
  • Prayer Quilts For Those Suffering Through A Crisis, Bereavement Or Serious Illness

Member's of Novacare's Craft Room are also responsible for organising the Daffodil Day & Pink Ribbon Day for cancer research.
