Uniting to Deliver New Social and Affordable Housing for Seniors

Uniting has been selected through a competitive tender process by the New South Wales Government to provide safe, welcoming homes and support services to more than 300 seniors in need across the state, under the government’s Social and Affordable Housing Fund (SAHF).

The SAHF is a key component of the NSW Future Directions for Social Housing in NSW strategy that will result in more social and affordable housing dwellings linked to tailored support, to help older people in need to gain independence.

Uniting Executive Director Peter Worland said, “For those who are older and on low to moderate incomes, it’s getting harder to find a secure, appropriate and affordable place to live.”  

“We are proud to be appointed, as providing safe and affordable housing to seniors at our independent living villages is in keeping with our mission to unite for greater change and support people who are disadvantaged as they get older,” Peter Worland said.

Uniting will be welcoming new residents to some of its existing and new developments over the next three years, and involving them in our vibrant communities.
