on the Tuesday, July 5, 2016

Baptistcare Chief Executive Officer, Rev’d Dr Lucy Morris, will be leaving the organisation on 29 July 2016 after eight years in the role.

Rev’d Dr Morris said, “It has been an enormous privilege to lead this wonderful organisation and to see the transformation which has been achieved over the last few years. Baptistcare is now starting its next chapter as a vibrant and courageous faith-based organisation delivering essential services in our communities, and it is time for me to hand the baton to those leading Baptistcare into the next chapter.

"I have loved my time with Baptistcare and I am very grateful for the opportunities I have had to work with the extraordinary team of people who make such a difference in the lives of our customers. My colleagues throughout Baptistcare are transformational in every way. Thank you Baptistcare for the opportunity you gave me and I look forward to seeing all of you continuing to flourish into a very exciting future.”

Baptistcare Board Chair Garry McGrechan wished Rev’d Dr Morris the very best for the future and thanked her for her enormous contribution in transforming the organisation.

“It has been a pleasure to work with Lucy and see the changes she has brought to Baptistcare during a time of enormous change for the community sector. She has brought a strength of faith and commitment, and has created positive social change for Baptistcare,” Mr McGrechan said.

The Board of Directors are working closely with the Baptistcare executive team to manage the transition and the search to appoint a new CEO will commence shortly.

In serving as CEO, Rev’d Dr Morris oversaw the doubling of the organisation’s revenue from $50 million to more than $110 million and becoming a leading voice of advocacy and mission in Australia today.

“Lucy Morris’ leadership championed the importance of aged care in Western Australia,” said Mr McGrechan. “She has consistently positioned us to achieve our vision of transforming and enriching lives, and we thank her for that contribution.”
