Location
Mandurah is the second largest city in Western
Australia, with a population of nearly 67,000.
The area has what is described as a typical
Mediterranean climate, with warm summers and cool
winters. In summer time temperatures range from 19-40
degrees, with an average daily temperature of 27
degrees. Whereas in winter time, the average minimum is
9 degrees and the average maximum is 15 degrees.
The area is known as the unofficial gateway to the South
West and boasts a lot of tourist attractions,
particularly water attractions. There are major fishing
and crabbing areas, plus frequent dolphin and whale
watching in neighbouring settlements Bunbury and
Rockingham.
Mandurah has always been a popular destination for day
trips, with its beaches and holiday atmosphere. There is
a mixture of urban (restaurants, shopping strips,
employment and educational opportunities) and semi-rural
living (natural beauty, relaxed atmosphere et cetera),
and since it’s not far from a major city residents can
easily enjoy the best of both worlds.
