SARVRA
- Membership is available to any person who is a permanent resident of a retirement village.
- Aims to "Advance the interests of the residents
of retirement villages".
- Always aims, to work towards achieving the best
outcome for residents - to ensure that expectations
are realistic.
- On invitation, will provide a speaker to:
- a. Persons seeking advice on forming a 'Residents
Committee' or establishing a constitution suitable
to the needs of a village.
- b. Clubs or any other interested groups.
- Does not go into a village to resolve any
problem that residents may have - but does give
advice on how best to solve the problem, and where
to go if it seems that the problem cannot be
resolved by conciliation.
- Is always available for information and help -
our main concern is for village life to be
satisfying.
- Continues to represent the interests of
residents as it works closely with those involved in
the formation of legislation relating to retirement
villages.

- Management Committee is made up of elected
members (each living in a different retirement
village). The committee, representing many years of
village living experience, meets monthly to deal
with matters raised by members and other matters
concerning the interests of members.
- Has an excellent working relationship with
officers assigned to retirement village matters in
the Seniors Information Service, Office for the
Ageing and other Government bodies.
- President is a member of the Retirement Villages
Advisory Committee, which meets on a regular basis.
This committee includes representatives of owners of
private sector villages and representatives of the
'not for profit organization' owned villages.
- Receives no funding from Government thus
allowing complete independence of view and
representation.
Can SARVRA assist you in any matter relating to
residency in a retirement village?
